My Top 5 Travel Destinations Wishlist

Katy and I spend a lot of our time travelling and, when we aren't physically away from home, that means that I spend a lot of my time looking at flights, air bnbs and things to do in all manner of different places. Although we're going to need to tick a ton of these off the bucket list after we've finished our travels for this year, there's an ever-growing list of more places I want to see and more holidays that I want to book. So, without further ado, here are my top ten travel destinations at this very moment.

1: Transylvania (Cluj-Napoca) - Romania
This is one of the  most expensive European breaks I've ever found; flights always seem to err on the side of expensive (or at least for Europe flights), so does accommodation and I'll be honest, we just don't have the money right now with all of the other holidays we have this year. I really want to visit this part of literary history, and especially as it's in such a beautiful country; so, for the minute this is definitely my number one on my travel destinations wishlist.

2: Venice - Italy
I always resent that fact that I never chose to travel to really typically tourist places when I was old enough to travel on my own, and Venice is definitely one of the places I want to go to, even if it's just on a whistle-stop tour. I especially want to visit at the moment whilst two giant hands, representing the effects of global warming, have been placed in the Grand Canal to look as though they're holding up Hotel Ca'Sagredo (artwork by Lorenzo Quinn); realistically, they're only up until November this year and so I probably won't get a chance to see them, but this city is still high on my wishlist.

3: Tokyo - Japan
One long haul flight, and the amount of saving that's come alongside it, has definitely been enough for this year, but the next one I hope that we manage to book is definitely to Tokyo. This, admittedly, is largely down to the fact that I really want to visit Disneyland Tokyo Sea, but I find the whole city something completely beautiful and fascinating, and Katy and I are both desperate to make it here. If you've been and written a blog post about it, please to link it in my comments so I can take a look.

4: Reykjavik - Iceland
Katy and I consistently talk about going to Iceland, and really the only think that stands between us and the northern lights is the sheer expense when we get to Iceland. I'm desperate to get there when it's all snowy and obviously I want to be a basic bitch and stay in a clear glass igloo, but realistically I'd even probably settle for an air bnb or a hotel if it meant that I got to spend a week in this wonderland.

5: Tivat - Montenegro
Finally one that's actually affordable but we just haven't gotten round to yet - Tivat in Montenegro. It seems every Air bnb here and will cost you no more than £30 per night for the privilege - and to be honest, if we had the money I'd definitely book this now. Generally speaking, this is a cheap holiday, with amazing sights, and you'd have instagram content for months after you go back. Don't you dare all go and book this now though and make it more expensive for when I finally get around to booking it.

Let me know any of your favourite places, or link me to any of your travel posts, below!

  1. Tokyo is so high up on my list too! I've honestly been hardly anywhere in Europe, but I'm finally (hopefully) heading to Budapest this year and I CAN'T WAIT

  2. I went to Venice in February and it was an amazing place, I would really recommend it if you can get a chance to go. I have also just uploaded a trip review on Barcelona, please check it out.
